HANDSON The Christopher Ward C65 Trident Automatic Time and Tide

the C65 Trident Diver is the watch Christopher Ward would have made if we had existed back in 1965. From the matte black dial, to its Old Radium-filled indexes, numerals and hands (baton shaped, of course), the Trident Diver is a watch whose design sits comfortably in amongst the many famous divers of the '60s period.

The twin flag is balanced by the text Automatic GMT at 6 o'clock. The aged lume fits with Christopher Ward's overall design plan for the Trident line. Christopher Ward created a fresh look for a classic design. Hidden Surprises. The case dimensions are stellar for a GMT. The C65 GMT is thin while providing just enough wrist presence.

Christopher Ward's C65 Trident has one of the more interesting case designs I've come across on a dive watch. It's 41mm wide by 47.1mm lug-to-lug, which is pretty spot-on for a modern diver. The design of the watch is decidedly vintage, and with the new return towards smaller cased watches, I wouldn't have minded if it came in at 39mm.

Unlike those models, however, the C65 Trident automatic comes in under $1000 (roughly half that of the Oris, and a quarter of the price of a Black Bay). Because Christopher Ward is a relatively young brand, another difference is that the C65 Trident is not based on model from the brand's catalog from 60 years ago.

The C60 Trident has been one of Christopher Ward's most popular models. If you head over to my C60 Trident review, you'll soon see why. But, it's a definite divers watch, and for some, that's just not smart enough. Thankfully, CW realised this and introduced the C65 Trident Classic - the smarter, classier and neater brother of the C60. It's a bit like an non-identical twin.

The bezel has a matching blue aluminium insert. The crown isn't a screw-down, but the gaskets must be pretty solid, as it's rated to 150 metres. Now, the C65 isn't a new addition to the Christopher Ward family per se, but there are two significant changes on this version. First of all, the previous iteration was a manual wind, while this.

Christopher Ward C65 Trident Diver SH21 Limited Edition The Time Bum

The C65 Trident Diver SH21 Limited Edition is a superb watch, executed beautifully with few if any major flaws. But in addition to being a mouthful to say, it'll take a walletful to acquire at $2,160 on the bracelet (you can save $110 if you opt for a strap). If you want the SH21, the value is there: I think Frederique Constant is a very.

Christopher Ward C65 Trident

The Christopher Ward C65 Trident automatic is a very comfortable watch, and it looks great on the wrist. The 40.5mm case width is in the sweet spot for many people. And the reasonable 47mm lug-to-lug length and curved lugs help it fit an even broader range of wrists really well. It's only 11.55mm thick, so it's a fairly thin watch that.
